Training Camp 1 includes six organized training sessions, both forest and sprint, all prepared on new maps. Most of the courses have been designed by the JWOC 2027 course setters, providing high-quality preparation in terrains relevant to the championships. The training camp takes place immediately after Sudety Cup 2026, a 4-day orienteering event organized in areas similar to the JWOC 2027 terrains. Teams are strongly encouraged to participate in Sudety Cup as part of their preparation.

Organization

Two training sessions are offered each day:

• Morning training from 10:30 to 12:30

• Afternoon training from 16:30 to 18:30

Control collection takes place 2 hours after the start of each training. For selected trainings, mass starts will be organized at 10:30 or 16:30. For all other trainings, participants may start freely within the training time window.

Maps will be distributed at the parking area. Three course options are available: Women, Men and Short. Control descriptions will be printed on the map and available separately at map collection (apart from trainings with mass start).

The printed maps will be of the same quality, material and produced by the same printing company as those used for JWOC 2027.

Controls and timing

Control flags and SPORTident timing will be used for all trainings. For trainings with forkings, a mass start is recommended at 10:30 or 16:30. For all other trainings, participants may start at any time using a start punching unit.

Accommodation

The organizer does not provide accommodation for individual athletes. Teams interested in accommodation during the training camp are welcome to contact us at office@jwoc2027.pl. We will do our best to assist in finding suitable options, depending on availability.

Cost

The participation fee is 10 € per athlete per training (including printed map and SPORTident timing). Participation without timing is not possible.

Entries

The entry deadline is 20.07.2026. Please use the entry form available on the JWOC 2027 website. The invoice will be sent by e-mail.

Guidlines

To ensure a successful JWOC 2027 in Lower Silesia, Poland, we kindly ask all teams and athletes to follow the guidelines below during training. We have established good cooperation with local authorities and landowners and it is important that we maintain these positive relationships. Our aim is that local communities will welcome participants and look forward to the JWOC competitions in July 2027.

Please observe the following rules:

• Embargoed areas must be strictly respected.
• Motorized vehicles are not allowed on forest roads, unless traffic signs clearly indicate that the road is open to public traffic.
• Parking is permitted only in designated areas.
• Entry into areas where forest work is being carried out is strictly forbidden. Keep a safe distance if you hear chainsaws, harvesters or other forestry machinery.
• Take care when running on roads and respect cyclists and vehicles.
• Show respect to other forest users, including landowners, forest workers, tourists, cyclists and pedestrians.
• Protect the natural environment and follow the principles of responsible outdoor behaviour.
• Do not leave any litter in the forest.
• If orienteering flags, tape or other markings are used to mark controls, they must be removed after the training.
• Ticks carrying tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) and Lyme disease are present in the area. Athletes are advised to check for ticks after each training session, especially in spring.
• All participants take part in trainings and competitions at their own risk.
